Here's a few of my favorite things:
Coleman turns 3 tomorrow!

Here's a folky jug that's just a whole buncha fun.

Long day

This morning I went and visited Tim Barnwell to get some pots shot. He's got quite the set up. Anyway. I got seventeen pots shot in 45 minutes, all digital. I'll share some tomorrow after I pick them up. I finished up some decorating and then started loading the kiln around 6pm. It took me about 3 1/2 hours to load all of the pots and brick up the door. I'm really glad to be done. I'll be up early to light the second burner. I hope it's a good one.

Kiln's unloaded

Front stack: Mostly nice, I can't complain.

Back stack: Overall nice and bright. I lost two cups and one bowl due to falling kiln crud.

Decorating cups & mugs

I've been decorating most of the day. This takes a long time. There were definitely a few that got some ugly deco. Of course, no pictures of those. I went almost 8 months without making mugs. It was nice to make some again and in this economy, they'll probably move faster than the bigger pots. Anyway, these all have 100% Tile 6 slip (2% bentonite) covering them and the brushwork is underglaze. These pots were slipped and lined with glaze at the leatherhard stage and will be once-fired in the salt kiln this week. Click on the image to get a larger version. Happy Valentine's Day. I cooked my wife and son a fabulous southern dinner tonight: cajun catfish, fried cornbread, baked scalloped potatoes, and salad. A nice reward after a hard days work. Cheers, mates.

Terra Incognito Show Photos

There's currently a show of nice pots at Terra Incognito in Chicago, IL. The entire show is photographed and online here.

Here's my sister, Cara, headed to the opening reception. Cara has lived in Chicago for 12 years. She is the Principal and owner of Studio Pragmatik. She wasn't going to miss it even there was 10 inches of new snow that day.

Here's a photo Cara took at the opening reception. Looks like a nice gallery. Thanks for looking.
