Decorating cups & mugs

I've been decorating most of the day. This takes a long time. There were definitely a few that got some ugly deco. Of course, no pictures of those. I went almost 8 months without making mugs. It was nice to make some again and in this economy, they'll probably move faster than the bigger pots. Anyway, these all have 100% Tile 6 slip (2% bentonite) covering them and the brushwork is underglaze. These pots were slipped and lined with glaze at the leatherhard stage and will be once-fired in the salt kiln this week. Click on the image to get a larger version. Happy Valentine's Day. I cooked my wife and son a fabulous southern dinner tonight: cajun catfish, fried cornbread, baked scalloped potatoes, and salad. A nice reward after a hard days work. Cheers, mates.

those are pretty sweet, is that a turquoise underglaze? i deco'd some pots in this load with some kyle carpenter influenced decoration but with my own spastic brushwork. i'm firing this coming friday and i have a dozen or so dinner plates in the firing.

Is that a lump on your handle? I'm going to have to feel that one.

Each one of your cups/mugs is so lovely. The last mug looks like the seed heads are blowing in the wind and the birds have such expressive looks. I tried painting some underglaze on a couple of pinch pots the other evening - it's very fat brush work. When I get better I'd like to try doing a quail.
