Let's GEEK out

Need to know more about my pottery business? Since my business is listed with Google Places, it gives you the opportunity to print this "barcode thing" and have it available for your potential customers to scan with their smart phones. I think after scanning, or taking a photo of it, it takes you directly to my website. My phone is not smart, so I'm not sure exactly how it works. I guess I'll be printing this on my postcards in the future? What do you think? Silly or useful?
I was at PetSmart tonight, buying a couple dog toys, and noticed these barcodes next to each price. I'm guessing, if you scan it, it will take you to a website, or maybe reviews of the product. This has the the potential to be very useful, I think.

Kyle, I am really excited about using these QR's I have a smart phone and an app that creates and reads them and I suspect many more people will be using them soon here in USA, although they are very popular in Japan and in other countries. I am also going to make a silkscreen with my QR saying whatever I want to say (message, etc) name, etc and putting it on the bottom of my ceramic pieces. I have played around with making them and you can have them convey messages like "I love you", Merry Christmas and Happy New Year", really quite a handy way and very high tech way to communicate I think.
