I got the kiln loaded yesterday afternoon and lit it around 9pm for an overnight candling. I lit the second burner around 7:30 this morning. The firing usually lasts until 11pm. I'm gearing up for the River Arts District Studio Stroll, June 14 & 15. With everyone at the Clayspace firing this week, we are going to have a ton of new work to show off. I thought I was going to have to fire twice, but my kiln seems to eat pots when I'm loading them. I guess that's a good thing. My wife, who teaches public school, is finishing up the school year this friday which means I'M GOING TO THE STUDIO!!!!!!! See, I watch my 2+ year old son during the weekdays until he goes to part-time daycare this fall. Anyway, since my wife will be home for the summer, I can go to work full-time in the studio. I'm stoked! The Clayspace Co-op will be hoppin' this summer with workshop attendees from Odyssey, tourists, friends stoppin' by.....I can't wait. I'm fired up and ready to go!

Sounds like I may be in the opposite situation. Since school is out I am watching the girls in the morning and work in the afternoon and after dinner. I'm the default at-home parent since I'm self employed. Pots look great. Have a good firing.
