2nd Shift

Last evening, after watching the kids all day, I made, trimmed, and slipped a little of that Helios porcelain I referred to in the last post. This vase has a second thrown part for the neck. Let's hope is sticks. This vase will get two small lug handles at the joint. It's amazing how different this beast is from my stoneware, which I really love and appreciate now more than ever. I've been slipping these porcelain pots, but really want to cover them with glaze. I just know how juicy these pots could really be. We'll see.

You're going to fire this porcelain in your kiln? Can't wait to see the results.

There must be something in the air! I've been making some porcelain pots for my next salt glaze kiln been using helios, throws great for porcelain!
Have fun...

Keep on keeping on. Porcelain is a different animal but with time and patience you may like it better than your stoneware. Good luck!!
