Asheville Pottery Scene

Above is the postcard image for the upcoming "Exploring Surface Design" show at American Folk Art and at Cloth Fiber Workshop. Two shows, two locations, one theme. The show at American Folk Art includes the work of Daniel Johnston, Michael Kline, and myself. This show opens Friday, August 1st, at 5 pm. This show is part of a "Gallery Walk" throughout downtown Asheville. Which leads me to another show down the street...

Clayspace Co-op, my studio, is showing new woodfired work alongside a local painter, Tom Pazderka, at the Asheville Arts Council. I'll be showing some new side-fired pots with ample flashing and ash. My studiomates will also be showing their nice new woodfired work. There will be around 100 pieces in the show. Show opens Friday, August 1st, 5:30 pm. Yes, I know, I'm double-booked. Well, I'll be at American Folk Art most of the evening and probably head to the Arts Council later in the evening. You should come. It'll be fun. Garontee!!!!

Hi Kyle - Found your blog on Alex Matisse's blog roll. Your work is beautiful. We are visiting Asheville in October for the Graft Guild Show and Spruce Pine... Do you show your work at either one of those?
